Conor McGregor launched his new whisky brand, as he appeared for the first press conference for his UFC 229 fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov swigging it on the stage.

McGregor said on the release: “We created close to 100 blends and ultimately selected what we knew was the one and only Proper whisky blend.

“I respect other Irish whiskys, but I am coming in strong, with passion and with purpose.”

McGregor was asked about it in a press conference after claims that it tastes terrible.

One reporter questioned the quality and McGregor responded in his usual fashion.

“Ask my bollocks, mate. Have a drink of it now and tell me what you think,” McGregor said.

“There are always going to be begrudgers and people that are hating and this and that. It comes with the territory when you’re at the top of your game.

“Trust me! It is the tastiest Irish whisky there is on the planet. I fucking love it and I don’t give a bollocks what anyone says.

“I’m not even trying to sell it. Just have a sip of it. Take a bottle with you and enjoy yourself.”

What is Proper No. 12 whisky?

Created with Elder, who has been named master distiller for Proper No. 12, the whisky is a triple-distilled blend aged in ex-Bourbon casks and bottled at 40% abv.

Named after Dublin postal district 12 in which McGregor grew up, the whisky is said to evoke ‘hints of vanilla, honey and toasted wood’.

Where can you buy Proper No. 12 whisky?

It is available exclusively in Ireland and the USA but there are plans to expand in 2019.

It was selling so well in some Tesco stores in Ireland they began limiting sales to two bottles per person.

A spokeswoman told the Irish Sun: “To ensure availability for all customers we’ve introduced a limit on the number of bottles that can be sold in a single sale.”

How much does Proper No. 12 whisky cost?

£39.95, with £3.80 from every crate sold going to help first-responder organisations and charities.

He said: “I wanted to make an Irish whisky emblematic of Irish culture as a whole, and something that would showcase the great skill we possess of distilling the best whisky in the entire world.

“One of the many amazing skills we possess on this great island.

“With each case we sell, my company will donate to the first responders in each district the case is sold in.

“This donation plan will be in operation all over the world.

“These are the men and women who run into buildings while everyone else is running out.

“They are our real life heroes – Proper Heroes.”

How much does Conor McGregor make from Proper No. 12 whisky?

Billions, according to Dana White.

”The last thing he needs to worry about is his check,” White said.

“The whisky thing is probably going to make this kid a billion dollars. They can’t keep his Proper 12 whisky, they can’t keep it off the shelves.

“It’s flying off the shelves. All the casinos around here are not only serving it, selling it. He’s killing it and good for him.”
